Dr. Marijke D’Haese


Dr. Marijke D’Haese is a professor in rural development economics at Ghent University in Belgium. She spent her childhood in Africa and returned to home-country Belgium to study bioscience engineering at Ghent University, graduating in 2007. Her research interests focus on the impact of institutional changes on food security and family income, improved access to better markets, and sustainable access to (natural) resources in a number of African and Latin American countries.
